Rolling into Kamloops yesterday...

The fire was supposed to be 50k away, but the mtn across from town went up just the day before, and was still smouldering. We met couple that had been evacuated from one valley over and didn't know if their home was still there or not...

We found that our hotel room was full with a tour mob so we booked it for home, in the dark and smoke... Fun drive. Then we hit the smoke from the Jasper fire (choke) around Lake Louise - very thick. I was actually glad to see flat land again, and clear skies.

But tonight we seem boxed in by smoke a little...

We've been watching the fires pretty closely as our daughter lives in the Crowsnest Pass.
