Well, I just got home from the hospital. I've re-agrivated / partially separated my shoulder and am in one of those fancy schmancy slings (typing with one hand!)

Now, I've already had two operations on my shoulder, and need to get another one, so this might be a good thing in that it should bump me up on the list (I mean really, I was on the machine where all you do is pedal your arms...and I wasn't going fast or using much resistance) but it's definately bad in that I'm out of commisssion for a week at least. Can't tattoo with only one arm and can't do much else either.

I think I might go crazy in this house.

Sorry to hear about your injury! Just park yourself in front of your tank and look at the nice frags!

Oh man sorry to hear that! Sucks.

I have a routine of going to the gym three times a week and really stick with it. Just becomes 'normal'. But since learning I am going to be living in 30 degree weather all year round (less clothes), I have really felt the need to get in even better shape! LOL

So what I am saying is that you should plan to move somewhere HOT all year round and then you will feel the pressure to get in great shape

or just get there and sweat it all away I guess.

well I am planning on going back to Italy for a couple months.... that might be the kick I need. That and I don't think I've worn a pair of shorts since I played soccer, so I have nicely coloured knees and pasty white everywhere else on my legs. It's time to get these puppies tanned and show off the tattoos....

I go for a run every morning. (Because I sleep in and have to run out the door to the car. lol)

I've allways weighed between 140-150 pounds and have been very lean my entire life. This year when I turned 43, I got an instant belly. I mean, just at that moment in time I went from 150 to 160. Not all that much, but it seemed instantanious.
I better do something before this gets out of hand.

I hope you feel better soon.

Shoulder injuries suck (as do most any other type of injury). I've just managed to get mine working well enough to finally return to work after 6 1/2 months. I never had surgery on the shoulder, but did for my fractured ankle. The shoulder had many things damaged but none bad enough to warrant cutting into it (at least not for now). All this as a result of hitting a deer with my motorcycle. My arm was the first thing to contact the road and did not stand up so well to the forces of a 500lb motorcycle and me jamming it into the gravel at 60 Km/h. Lots of Physio to get it back to about 85-90%. Still some pain and discomfort, but I expect that is just my life now. Looking forward to the future of probably needing surgery on it someday.

I've heard good things about Dr. Boorman, he did my initial assesment for both my injuries in the ER at the PLC. For my shoulder, I ended up under the care of Dr. Lo who is also excellent. I believe they are the top two shoulder specialists in the city if not the province.

Good luck with the recovery, it can be trying not being able to do the things we take for granted. But at least you can still walk, try using crutches with a wounded wing

hahaha no thanks Ed.

Well, for those who I met yesterday at Johns, yes, the arm is out of a sling. Dr Boorman contacted me and we talked and it was decided that there's nothing really left for me to have injured/torn...that's already been done. So after the shoulder was put back in place the only point of the sling really was to help keep weight off of it. I hate being the one armed bandit...so it's out of a sling. But noooooo cycle thinger for quite a while. Good thing is, it moved me up on the operation list
