Oh, 2 people got hit where they were shooting. Just not sure if they were the intended targets though.

It may be going through a string of gun crime at the moment and somewhat frequently throughout history, but please show a bit of respect to those of us that live here. You may not like it, but for me its still home.
I work in West Van and there was a body cut into 100 pieces up there, and a girl pushed off the lions gate bridge within a month. I would imagine you would still like to live there, finances permitting of course! Last edited by duncangweller; 07-14-2015 at 08:08 PM. |

Coquitlam is where it's at but if in any case some one breaks into my house I will have a few surprises for them. Say hello to my little friend which is my ar223 and ar308 along with a remington 870.
Here is a little reading from news 1130 I thought might be interesting. How far can you go in defending your home and family from an intruder? LOCAL by TREENA WOOD AND ALISON BAILEY Posted Jul 14, 2015 11:14 am PDT SUMMARY Criminologist says if someone breaks into your home, the Criminal Code gives you a lot of latitude METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A man has been charged with murder in a crime that has shocked the region. Khouri Green is accused of shooting Colin Hill as he broke into his home. Hill was at home with his family at the time of the attack late Sunday night. Criminologist Neil Boyd says this type of crime, where the victim dies in his own home and didn’t know his attacker, is relatively rare in Canada. “It’s always a worry, of course, for people to hear a noise, hear of somebody breaking in. It’s somewhat neighbourhood-dependent. The more vulnerable neighbourhoods are more prone to an attack,” he explains. Boyd says when it comes to these circumstances, the Criminal Code gives you a lot of latitude. “Obviously, you’re not going to shoot somebody who’s [just on] your property, but if you use deadly force in defense of your home, it’s extremely unlikely that you would be held accountable.” Green has been charged with second-degree murder. In general the law actually allows you to defend yourself with the same amount of force being applied. For example knives against knives, guns against guns. Going beyond that can actually get you in trouble. Furthermore using any restricted or prohibited weapons in self defense will definitely get you criminal charges. The argument is you can't possibly retrieve such weapons in time if properly stored. So stick with the good old fashioned shotgun and keep a clean toy pistol around for planting.

I lived in Surrey once. Guy tried to steal my car, couldn't get it started. Guy comes back next night, removes ignition, couldn't get it started. I take it to shop for repairs (in Surrey), probably same guy tries to steal it again, can't get it started but does relieve me of 5k stereo system. Glad I moved

Scary stuff! Anyone still driving around with one of these?
Might not be all that appropriate based on what I'm reading in this thread. Link to an article from a few years ago, but seems apropos & not much has changed to improve the situation. Time to move to northern Saskatchewan I reckon, but it's burning up.... http://thetyee.ca/Mediacheck/2011/10...lace-On-Earth/ .... or why not the US of A, most states allow you to pack pretty well any form of "heat" that tickles your fancy.

Despite being named crime capital of Canada 2 years running a few years ago here I still feel safer living here than anywhere in the lower mainland.
