Large Angel in an SPS tank - Page 2

Does anyone own Anglefish from the Pomacanthus family. Juvenile or adult?

I've got an Emperor angel, adult. Loves eating the LPS (so they're separated) but I haven't seen him bother the SPS.

How long have you had the fish. Was it a juvie when you got him?

Had him for about a year and a half, and he was a juvenile when we got him.

What all did he eat, Mitch? I mean corals-wise.

As a juvenile, he didn't bother any corals. As he grew, he developed a taste for the LPS - open brain, caulestrea, sometimes the closed brain. (so he's now sitting in my sump)
Beautiful fish, though!

No SPS, but I have a 4-5 inch Queen & juv. Koran in with my LPS & soft corals. Never touch 'em, although they & the tangs are hard on my caulerpa fields

They also leave my red halimenia (macro-algae) alone.

Do you have clams in your tank?

What's your plan for the Emperor? Any plans on getting rid of it?

If you go through the Tanks of the Month on reefcentral.com you will see a few people who have had large tanks with large angels and a variety of corals - esp. sps - no mention of angels eating up the corals - I don't remember exact details, but these were BIG tanks.
