Bigger tank bigger headaches

Get some scrap acrylic and a couple of nylon screws and nuts and drill holes in whats left of the old bracing and the acrylic and then attach. 100% safe and easy to do. I've done it myself in the past and you can find tons of examples if you google "replacing center brace with acrylic".

It was suggested that I do that by someone I work with this morning and it is a viable option which I think I will do if that doesn't work it's been suggested that I get a local glass company to build a full euro brace to fit over the entire lid which is also an option Albiet a very expensive option

I wouldn't put any water in the tank until the above suggestion is done, the braces were there to hold the tank together and a very important part of the structure as to outward water pressure on the glass, and has nothing to do with holding up the lighting.
Once you install the acrylic braces you should be good to go, nice tank BTW.

Because my carpentry skills are legendarily horrible I thought it was going to look crappy as well but I was pleasantly surprised tomorrow I give it the water test getting buckets ready for the worst scenario
