Mine did the exact same thing. I have a orange spotted goby and pistol shrimp. Been 3 weeks and no pairing so loosing hope it will ever happen. Still here clicking so pistol is still alive.

Eventually they will find each other. Mine found each other quick but moved to the back of the tank. I see the goby once every 2 weeks and the shrimp only if stretch my head between the tank and the wall to see the very back.

thanks for the comments, today I havent seen either of them. hopefully they are still alive

They don't automatically pair.
There is no guarantee one will pair with the other. It's a crap shoot. |

I spoted my yasha in the same burrow of my Blue Spot Jawfish, he is still super shy, it will dart in everytime I get close to the tank. very interesting fish to watch tho.
