![]() I've always used Jäger but switched to Finnex about a year ago. No problems with either. |

![]() Looks like Jager is very popular, does anyone run heaters with a controller or just use the on board stat?

![]() I have my heater (very old brand) running off my controller. It operates within a range, using its own thermo switch. But would never trust a heater on its own, no matter what brand.

I get SMS and email alerts of gross temperature excursions as well as plug the heater into a controlled outlet that will be killed if the heater goes "bananas". This scheme is not 100% perfect as the outlet *could be* switched off by a goofy controller off but overall, I prefer the "layered" security of this scheme rather than put all my trust in either the heater or the controller. What can I say, I work in electronics (hence the username) and don't trust the stuff 100%... Last edited by SiliconGuy; 02-16-2015 at 04:59 PM. Reason: Spelling |
