what type of wrasse.i had a couple of wrasses living in my overflow at separate times.i started feeding them raw shrimp at night till they finally got use to the feeding prong,then i netted them(the net was in the overflow for 2 days so they got use to it)

I've drained the overflow and netted but have also pulled the standpipe and and taken out from the filter sock in the basement. Thinking a quick trip to the basement is probably less stressful than have a net waved around for 1/2 hour.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Thinking I'll try to net him in the return and if that doesn't work I'll put the net in the sump and pull the drainpipe. Just twists on and off right? Will let you know results

So I tried draining overflow to catch the wrasse. No go. So I put a net at the end of my drainpipe in the sump and pulled the standpipe in the overflow... Less than a minute later and the wrasse was in the net. You never really think about what growing in your overflow until something like this happens. Um...ewe...lol! Wrasse has been back in DT for more than 24 hours now and he's only coming out to feed. The rest of the time he's hiding on the sand behind a rock. My female squarespot anthia is the culprit. She chases him around the tank everytime he comes out. He's the only one that can compete with her for food come feeding time. Needless to say, I'll be putting her up for sale soon as I get a chance to net her during next W/C.
Anyone interested in a 4" female squarespot Antonia?
