![]() put your cup on loose so water can spill out below it. I did this and it allowed me to get skimming much sooner. i gradually seated the cup better as more of it was skimmed out.

![]() When I used chemiclean my skimmer had a hissy fit, and I had to leave the cup off for almost a week. Did 2 50% water changes, I won't use it again. I find Brightwells MB7 helps to control small patches of cyano. It was suggested to me by Walter " Reef Pilot" who has been using it for a while now, so I tried it and it does help.

![]() Thanks guys. I'm going to try Brett's idea with the skimmer cup not screwed on. Wouldn't be so bad if salt didn't cost $74.99 at my LFS
