The Bio actif (that also can be purchased separate from TM marketed as Reef Actif) does have ULNS qualities, however on a lesser scale than found in systems such as zeovit, the salt is design to replicate every element found in nature this includes natural levels of organics as Han explained to Reef Builders in the article, it does not replace your ULNS, it will complement it.

In regards to price not something I am going to really get into, you get what you pay for in this hobby. If you feel its too expensive for you, dont use it. But until you try it you wont know what you are getting. The RB article again does cover this topic to an extent.

If you dont want the added bio Actif part part still want TM's quality then Pro reef salt from TM is the mid range option.
