Does this light have legs for mounting? Can they be narrowed to a 20" width? My son is new to the hobby and has a biocube 29 that he wants to remove the hood and put a light on top. can you post some photos? Also, does it have a timer/controller?

Yup... the legs are adjustable. I had this light on a 30gal JBJ biocube. There is no built in timer for the lights but you can run a separate timer for each light... i.e. moon lights... Actinics etc... each light has its own power switch and plug. There is a built in fan. I don't have any photos yet but here is a link to give you an idea of what it looks like.
