LED lighting is also test exempt. its in the amendment. the power supply is not thats why both ecotech and GHL use graded power supplies

He seems to be very under educated in the regulations, for one just to say it all has to be CSA is B.S just there.

Issue is the info is tightly hidden on health canadas website, and e-safes it takes hours of digging to find it.

I put in a call to a field evaluator.

Apparently they can provide me with all the information needed to pass inspection and certify any equipment that is not certified.

2-005 An application for inspection not required

(c) for the installation of wiring and associated equipment connected to the load
side of an approved class 2 power supply whose power output does not
exceed 100 V•A; and is operating at less than 42.4 V ac peak or dc;
by an
employee or agent of the original equipment manufacturer or a worker in
accordance to his/her designation and if the wiring is:
(i) installed in an owner-occupied dwelling unit;
(ii) not connected to electrical equipment identified in Subrule 2-022 (3)(c)(i)
to (vi); and
(iii) not connected to electrical equipment forming part of an electrical
installation to which Section 68 and 32 of this Code applies;

LED lights are exempt and from what I understand, CE is enough when the electrical unit has an external power supply.

I do see these markings on the GHL ballasts but I dont think its good enough.

I just went thru this with local inspectors with a LED dance floor for my club. Those marks are a exactly the ones they need C RU & C RU US are Non Canadian/US certifiers with CSA approval. Plus I have to agree that your inspector is step out of his area even looking at your equipment.
