![]() I buy IO in bulk, so I just test one of the buckets in the batch for cal, alk, mg, and pH after 12 hours mixing just to check for something funky. I mix up 100 gallons at a time, so I don't bother to mix the salt in the bucket.
I use H2Ocean for my reef tanks and I test each new bucket. I don't mix the salt because H2Ocean packs the salt in a tight-fitting bag so it doesn't move around and settle ime. I only make 20 gallons at a time. I test cal, alk, mg, K, and pH after 12 hours. |

![]() I'm getting consistent NSW so why should I ruin my basement carpet, or have the workout ? ![]() Plus, if there's any free stuff in there, it's just gonna get messed up |

![]() I always had trouble keeping my alk up. Never really thought of testing my water changes but I have been recently and it was low in the new mixes. So I will always test for now on. I have also switched salts.

![]() I've been having low Alk issues for a while so have been testing first batch made from every bucket. I do 50g changes every 10 days so have to test pretty regularly.
