I'm running a couple pumps in the bath tub right now. They seem to work well. I do notice, though, the pulse duration knob doesn't seem to give much range for a wave duration cycle. I also have the Coralife Wavemaker pumps (DC5800) and their pulse cycle is up to 60 seconds. I found that on the short cycle (about 5 seconds) it was too hard on the pumps (ramping up from low power to full blast), and I had wear on the shafts and bushings. But Coralife replaced them (lifetime warranty), and I now run them at the longer cycle, and they seem to be holding up OK for now. So I hope these WP40s are tough enough to handle a short high powered pulse duration (no power to full every few seconds). They are cheap, though, so not a big loss if they don't last too long.

I got my WP40 yesterday, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. It looks awesome though.
Nick - Thanks for putting this all together and getting us such a great deal! Harry - You're the best. Never mind hand delivery of the pumps for everyone, but my bonus was was the best (Chris was over in 15 minutes when he knew what I had for him). My tank is your tank, come by and take what you want! |
