Default Project: Keep wife happy :)

Well, my wife has been exceptionally patient with me and my tank upgrade so I've been helping her out with her little pet project - her pond. I've tried convincing her to go with something a bit bigger. I showed her Dez's little set up, but she's totally not the bigger is better type (unlike me ). So she's content with her little pond. Anyway I thought I'd share a bit of what I did for her. Here's her little pond:

But she had no where to sit and enjoy it much so she wanted a bit of an arbor to hang her swing from and run our grape vines onto. So here's a few steps of the last 2 week ends and eve's:

Thankfully we live in an area where you can go right to the mills and get some custom board sizes. I needed a pretty big chunk to do this:

Apply a few coats of Sikkens Cetol 1 and voila:

Nice. I love pergolas/arbors. I also agree with you that the pond is too small but if it makes her happy...

whoa, that's a brilliant idea for the grape vines!! Mine have outgrown the space that I gave them and i was wondering what to do about that. I think I'll build an arbour for them just like yours and let them grow up and over!
