Or if Tim is willing to ship to Calgary (in case its not available), maybe we can split the shipping I wouldn't mind using it so that I don't have to buy a reactor and pump.

Question... once the po4 is bound, does it still show up on a test like the milwaukee photometer?

No it does not. The bound phosphate is inert. I use a Lamotte photometer to check Phosphates and it does not register.

Hi,

The purpose of Foz Down was to reduce the cost and work associated with removing Phosphates.

The reason people want to use filter socks with the Foz Down is the fear that the bound phosphate will be released back into the system. I have never heard of this happening nor have I heard of an experiment to test the theory.

If you would rather not use filter socks then that is your decision. It won't effect your system in a negative way if you don't. I have used Foz Down with out filter socks for several years with no ill effects.
