One last round of photos from my 150...
Just of my tang. She's photogenic.
     This is the same one I still may have available for sale, by the way. Photos taken with my dad's Fujifilm S5000. Fairly nice camera, just getting the hang of it now. Photos are not modified, you can see the discrepancy in the colours.

Yeah, I've lost control of the algae in the last few months. Plus the stuff that's low is hard to reach with a blade. My Mag-Float isn't strong enough for my glass thickness, I really need a Magnavore. Oh well.
The size is part of the problem with trying to get rid of her, she needs a large tank. However, I don't think it's fair to single out this particular species as being a "unsuitable due to size" fish. Most members of the Acanthurus genus grow very large, the lowly powder blue a case in point, listed on Fishbase at a whopping two feet. Of course I wouldn't agree with Fenner's statement that this fish "stays small enough for most home aquariums". I don't think any properly-maintained tang would really stay small enough for most home aquariums, except maybe the Zebrasoma species'.

oh dude, dont get me wrong, i love my tangs, and i wasnt trying to preach about tank size and aquaria suitability.
i simply and honestly just have never seen a pic of an adult atlantic in a home aquarium. i wonder why that is? it is one of the most beautiful tangs in my opinion. just kinda weird that a lot more people dont keep them. you hardly ever hear them mentioned. its always, the yellow, regal, purple, etc.

 I do agree that they are a stunning animal. If I move to a large tank in the future I will certainly obtain another. I'm not sure why they're not as popular as other tangs. I bought her because I was interested in keeping fish that you don't commonly see in captivity, but she has since turned into a really beautiful fish, and very tame as well.

Currently Steve in Calgary has offered to take the tang. I don't think I'd be comfortable with her in anything less than ~200 gallons. I do believe that they would do alright with a yellow tang, as they have a significantly different body shape and of course are of seperate genera. Even if she was available, it would be far more economical for you to obtain one from J&L. I bought this one from Seacare while they were still doing retail.
