I'm in the same boat. I have a few patches of HA but my nitrates and phosphates are zeroed out. It has been suggested several times in the forums that macro algaes like HA can take up PO4 and nitrates before they get a chance to be read. HA is a resilient bugger! I didn't know you have a bunch of hell's asians in your tank that you are dealing with Kien...

All jokes aside, I have used lettuce nudi to control some of the hair algae problem I had in my frag tank and they do a fair job. I know they are likely to eat bryopsis but when push comes to shove food is food. I also use a couple of abalones for algae control in the main tank, they are smart and delicious.
