![]() What happened to "I'm going to stick with halides cause LEDs suck" (my paraphrase of you and your thoughts)

![]() That's Kien's way of welcoming me back to the hobby. Freebie Pests FTW! (thanks btw)
Even a moderately warm day outside caused my temperature to hit 82 or 83 with the canopy and heater that happens to also glow lol. Decided to take the plunge mostly due to that. The cannon style LEDs have some of the spirit of a halide while running cool. Time will tell how this teeny 35W wonder performs but my needs are a lot more modest these days. |

![]() I love your torch!
Let me know if your cloves don't make it. There's plenty more where they came from! Seriously tho, am I the only one on canreef that actually likes clove polyps?! Fuzzy purple on rocks is prettier than brown IMO. Yes they have taken over some rocks but they do not irritate any corals that ive noticed. Mine cloves are always outcompeted when other corals (sps/lps) start encrusting on their territory. |

![]() okay, I can kinda see them competing fiercely with zoas LOL. I don't have any of those. I had a watermellon chalice that outcompeted my cloves. I dunno man, they seem fairly easy to control to me. Whenever there is a patch that i want to clear I just take a hard bristled toothbrush and scrub the area clean. Or smother them with a bit of epoxy for a day or two then remove the epoxy. Nice clean surface again.

![]() That torch coral is sweet! Although it got one head to many, I think you need to frag it!

As for the cloves I really like'em. They're on their own rock but I wouldn't be surprised to see them spread somehow. it's crazy easy to access the insides of this tank so if I need to scrape some gsp or cloves once in a while that's ok with me. My first task is to blade most of the mushrooms off the rockwork! |
