Default eheim jager 50 watt heater

i have a question for somone who has used one of these. i just picked it up and trying to set it up and it says u adjust the blue temp dial to desired temp. well theres no mark on the heater for where u want to set it to. then once thats done u move the red calibration dial to fine tune it, but am i missng somthing how do you know where to set it in the first place..

Did you buy it new ? The new style ones look like this



I set up my heaters in a bucket with a powerhead and thermometer before using ...

The red ring has an arrow pointer
If you want 78F;
Hold the tube ( preferably by the black section ) and twist the blue ring to 78 and, after hours, check it against a thermometer
Now you use your fingernail to move the red pointer to match the thermo and it'll be calibrated

Now you can twist the blue ring to your desired temp and recheck it

hmmm tried it didnt seem to work right maybe my digital themometer is not working properly.
