Picture 2 is hard to tell with the camera flash, is it a hard tube or is it a soft worm? The white thing on the candy cane is a sponge.

Not quite sure what that worm is...the thread like things might be spaghetti a worm, they are good scavengers as well. And yes sponge is good also as it filters your water for you.

I am thinking it might be a spaghetti worm...they have thin tentacles that come out...they are good as well.
