Default Salt Question

Hi Everyone,

Currently I am working my nitrates down from the cycle and I have ran out of Salt - Instant Ocean.

My expectation is to run another week of water changes, which is relative to my nitrates issue, than fish for a month and finally start to add corals etc.

Being that Instant Ocean and Instant Ocean Reef is the same price (locally), would it be smart to change to Instant Ocean Reef early or am I just asking for trouble by increasing supplements that will not be used for over a month?

I figured the supplements would encourage coralline algae and help me stabilize my water with fish being much more forgiving before adding corals.

Use the IO Reef now, it will bring your levels up to a better place in time for your corals. Doing water changes won't raise your levels too high.

If you plan on changing down the road make the change now..you won't run into any problems doing it now.
