FYI in my experience having used both the SM300 and SM250 the 250 works significantly better. I swear that 300 was originally intended to be used with a single pump but when tested it was discovered it wasn't enough so they added some dinky little extra pump just to get it working. At least that's my theory, I never really got it working on a good steady pace, the small pump seemed too inconsistent and required constant attention. The 250 is not much smaller and virtually never requires adjustment or attention.
well after buying the skimmer and my lighting, the nanostreams are all I can afford

I spent a couple hours going through the "BK owners club" thread on RC and the KZ forum before making the decision.....any complaints about the 300 (there werent many) were diagnosed as user error (skimmer chamber was too deep)....Im not too worried about the wee tiny handful of people that had trouble tuning this model....it impresses me more, the overwhelming majority of good reviews
