Go to caco3reef/specials and you will see few videos on the doser,no you don't need to buy anything else for the unit to work,just program it and you are set.There is an information sheet in the box.chemicals you will not find anything cheaper than caco3reef.com/ unless you go with a lower grade chemicals, witch I do not recommend but some folks are using.As for a recipe you will find on each page of each chemical starting here caco3reef.com/bulk-chemicals
