Actually that was just to display them for customers, weren't ment for long term.
Just a simple idea, but might work for people without sumps (which would really need mangroves), or deep water sumps. After a little thought it would work long term by lust drilling a 3/8" hole on the bottom to allow for the root pod to extend out of. I'll look into making one later today. I'll get pics up later. That could totally work longer term. If the density was lowered or you made the pipe larger (like 1.5" as the bottom chunk, and just a small 3/4" part for it to grow up out of), you could push current through there... they would get crazy nutrients in the roots... I bet they'd grow like beasts!
