yup, eggcrate should work.....just zip-tie the bajeebers out of it....

I raised my skimmer with a "table" with pvc pipe for legs zip tied to an egg crate top. It is stable with minimal dead spots.

Speaking of egg crate, where do people in the Vancouver area get it? Home Depots near me only seem to carry the "chromed" egg crate.

most home improvement stores will carry it.....dont ask for eggcrate tho.....the guys will likely look at you funny.....ask for light diffuser panels.....should be in the electrical section
