Errr.... are you looking for the common name or the scientific name? Like I said, it's like 99% likely to be an Oxypora sp.. Can't really give you more detail than that without seeing the skeleton... but I'm guessing you don't want to show me that

All the pictures i have seen of oxypora sp. dont look likemine so im not sure if that's what it is. Was kinda looking for the common name, was told it was a rainbow chalice that wasnt doing well and bought it as a 5 dollar dying frag and it has now tripped in size and im amazed by the colors.

And yes it is mine

I'm having a hard time deciding if it is Oxypora or Echinophyllia...it is rather "meaty" to be an Oxy, but the shape is more Oxy. Hmmm...I'm leaning towards Echinophyllia.

I was having the same debate. They're really hard to tell apart without seeing the skeleton. The large septa at the growth edge had me leaning toward oxypora but it is rather meaty looking. You've got me second guessing myself.

No, I don't follow Chalices' common names much, and a Google search doesn't come up with anything for "Indian Warpaint Chalice coral". Whatever genus it is, it is very happy.
