I dont have canopy the fixture is about 10" above the water surface , I go with 1 hour only for rest of the week and 2 hours for next week, I move the fan power cord to the actinics power bar (9am - 10pm) probably ill keep it there for rest of summer .

Nice tank, looks like everything is responding well to the new lights. As for fans, if you don't care about hearing a fan, get a walmart $10 clip on fan. I used one on my last tank and it worked great, pointed right at the water my heater was actually turning on in the summer. If you want it to be quiet, get a computer fan, I've got 2 on my new tank and they are near silent. They're pretty cheap too, the pain is finding the 12V adapter.
