Dez,

Would you hesitate to put one of those fixtures on a 30" deep tank? One of my 400W HQI Ballasts bit it so I'm trying to decide of I should replace it or go a different direction.

wow that looks kick ass. My halides are due for replacement this summer so I'm starting to think about potential alternatives myself :-)

By the fall I should know wether I will sell my halides or not. That'll be the 6 month mark with those LEDs. So far so good though.

Sorry if you've posted this previously (I'm feeling lazy this morning), but do you run supplemental T5s with these as well?

Yup, I ran the T5s with the halides as well. So the only variable that's change is I switched out the halides. You can tell when the LEDs aren't on. It's quite a bit dimmer.

Awesome. Looks like a worthy candidate for replacing my halides. If it's good enough for Dez it's good enough for Canreef :-D

Remember, wait another 3 months before you do anything. It hasn't gotten the Dez stamp of approval yet . 6 months I believe is a fair trial.

They are loud though and that's the thing that bothers me. I have a fairly sealed canopy so that made a huge difference. So the stamp of approval may hinge on the noise factor.
