After consulting my slim volume appropriately named "Armoured Knights of the Sea" by Helmut Debelius I have come up with an ID. They are all Boxer Shrimp. The common everyday one is Stenopus hispidus, The picture Sam provided is Stenopus scutellatum from the Caribbean, mine is Stenopus zanzibaricus from the Indian Ocean.
