any chance you have a pic of your set up? I have the same tank and running a chiller as well. Just curious where you mounted your skimmer.

I'll try and get a pic this weekend. I had it dialed in really nice pulling in the darkest scum I have had yet. Then I treated for cyano and I am trying to get the skimmer to break back in now after being off.

Here are the photos. As you can see I have the intake and return lines on either side of the tank drain and filter chamber. The overflow line on the skimmer I have going into the tank in case something bad happens. Its still pulling out red from the cyano and it is a little on the wet side still. Turns out the trouble I was having was because the air inlet was partially blocked. I have had a couple times were it wants to overflow when you turn it back on and it was the blocked airway. Other than that its great. I did have to pull that tank out 4 or 5 inches from the wall.

Thanks for the photos. Nice little set up. Does the canopy hit the inlet and outlet plumbing when it opens?

ya the canopy hits the plumbing. Its not a big deal for me because I have a shelf next to the tank. I would have liked to have been able to open the lid but I didn't really think anything that would fit in the back and allow the lid to open would really be much good. I battled constant high nitrates until I finally broke down and bought the skimmer. Within two weeks they were at zero.

a HOB remora? I'm considering trying my aquaC on the back, depending on how the stock skimmer performs...
