there is a thread here about large barrels that were used for veggies, I think they were like $35 for a 55 gal.

thanks i dont think im gonna go buy a bunch of barrels just to use once. ill probably try to make up 100 gallons or so ahead of time and then make the rest directly into the tank

A few days at the beginning of your new set up to fill your tank with RO/DI to ensure years of enjoyment thats the way to go.

Maybe a scoop of yellow snow for an ammonia source to kick start the cycle....

May not necessarily be the best idea.However, I do have to say congratulations sir, for having the most Canadian solution for filling your tank I have ever heard!

find barrels great for water changes.
