No, pretty much most pumps in general. It really irks me when they don't start up again.

I have the same pumps on my skimmer. I had to trim the mesh way back to get it to start reliably, it still doesn't start 100% everytime though.

That skimmer is too new to be giving startup issues? Is the magnet perfectly cylindrical? Everytime I've had a pump with startup issues that wasn't on account of a mesh-mod, I think a swollen magnet was eventually found to be the cause. Very vexatious and I hope that's not the explanation! But might be worth checking next time you open the pump up. Lance we'll have to set you up sometime. Maybe not when it's minus a billion outside over here though. Ugh. But if you're ever out here drop me a line and we can do some gorgonian haircuts.
