That skimmer is too new to be giving startup issues? Is the magnet perfectly cylindrical? Everytime I've had a pump with startup issues that wasn't on account of a mesh-mod, I think a swollen magnet was eventually found to be the cause. Very vexatious and I hope that's not the explanation! But might be worth checking next time you open the pump up.

Lance we'll have to set you up sometime. Maybe not when it's minus a billion outside over here though. Ugh. But if you're ever out here drop me a line and we can do some gorgonian haircuts.

The tank looks great

The long green thing is a funny growing sps coral, almost looks like a pipefish from the side pic.

The Coral Master himself hooked me up the other day so I snapped some pics:
