+1 Great build, but I would lose the MDF, if you can find duraply (exterior grade and smooth surface like MDF, used by sign makers for exterior signs and billboards) that would be the way to go. One small flaw in your finish or water penetration on the edge will cause swelling and create a pressure point. Other than that tagging along, looks like it will be nice, can't wait to see the one piece euro.

I agree with not using MDF either. Tends to bloat when wet and will not shrink back to the original dimensions after it dries. It will also lose its structural integrity.

Looking really good so far!

Thanks guys, I have already bought 3/4" plywood to replace it, and have found another gallon of marine paint. I'll change this out. I have phoned and got my glass moved to Tuesday so I will not be in a rush to get the new top on.

Geez Doug, next time say something sooner!

Ya, It was a close call, but I just phoned it in and told them to postpone my glass until Tuesday. Thanks, may have saved me a head ache sometime down the road.

Ya, I know. But between the kids, job and night classes, I been a little short of time. Plus I promised myself I wouldn't rush things, and it's about to pay off.
