Man, my butterflies won't even touch those. They must taste really bad. They just spread and spread and spread. Manual removal seems to be the only hope for me.

Remember someone posting about using an electric toothbrush or something to mash them up off rock and supposedly worked well for them. I think it might have been Willow and/or Ivy. I could see it working but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to handle the smell if I tried it myself.

Hmm, thanks for the responses. Lots to think about. The cloves wouldn't be so bad if they spread like GSP, but they seem to float off and populate other parts of the tank. Little jerks.

Since they seem to wax and wane and there isn't much as far as bilogical control, I may just leave them and try to control them with aiptasia x and manual removal. That being said, I am taking the tank down this week so it is a good time for more drastic measures. While the tank is being taken down I could trade the rock in. I have worked hard at getting good live rock with as little of the nasty hitchhikers as possible, so it would be a shame to replace the blue cloves with aiptasia or something similar.

I still remember putting in the blue cloves thinking that they were going to be a mistake. But apparently my tank was lacking "something blue".
