I had one of these several years ago. I think the reason it hangs off kilter is due to the weight of the pump hanging from the input tube, particularly if you have a mag 3 or bigger. Not a smart design IMO. I ended up cracking the body where the input tube is attached while trying to lift it off the tank for cleaning. It slipped, banged back down and the jolt/weight of the drop cracked the $%# thing. To be honest, I never liked that skimmer and am glad it's gone.

Yeah, I've noticed mine is off slightly too. Glad to know it's not just me :P. I agree that it's probably the weight of the pump.
