Default seriatopora coral going white?

Well the other day my lovely girlfriend decided to leave for the day without turning our lights on. I have had him positioned right at the very top of the tank since day one as im only running T5 Highhigh outputs, i know i should have metal halides.

Since forgetting to turn the lights on he has gone completely white! he is still holding his shape well but there is no coloration left at all.

Is this guy done for? any chance of getting his color back? what can i do?

You dont *need* metal halides. Lots of people run very successful SPS and mixed reefs under T5s. What you should invest in is a timer for your lights. They are so cheap at Canadian Tire for example

One day without lights should not be a problem. My reef goes through that on a regular basis to simulate cloudy stormy days. If I had to guess I'd say it was a coincidence and that your coral was having other issues. How long have you had it? What else is in your tank?

If it still has polyps on it then it is still alive and could recover. If there are ni sign of polyps then it has likely bleached out to death, sorry

i will take a picture for you. It appears to has all the polyps still, i lost a xenia today, and it appears my star fish i picked up just over a week ago isn't doing to good after my water change. Poor guy has almost fully lost a leg, been a sad week in the fish tank.

Ya, don't blame the girlfriend though...a day of no lights is not enough to kill the coral.
