I believe it took around 8 (or more even) 5g buckets full of FW to drop the tank from 1.022 to 1.018 Last night I droped it down to 1.016 so I know what you mean about sore arms as the heater I put into the RO water to warm it up didn't warm the water at all and I had to dump lots more buckets into the tank to drop it down.

The fish that are left most seem to be eating, the only two that aren't are my pink tail trigger who is super covered in white spots and is breathing heavy, and my grouper who has lost most of his colour is breathing heavy and has a few spots on him.

I unplugged the lights because I figure it couldn't hurt to have the lights off for a few days and I am running a 36 watt UV (not a 50 but it does have a brand new blub in it). So we'll see how it goes.
Try to get as much oxygen in the tank by placing as many air pump bubblers on the bottom and adding a powerhead near the surface.
Ich attacks the gills and the additional oxygen assists the fish.

What temp is the tanks running at? maybe bump it up a bit just to speed up the life cycle? But I would be wary that Higher temps = lower Dissolved O2. Some good guidelines in this article http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/sp/index.php
Its too bad I'm so far away, I would definitely lend a hand with anything needed. All the best Laurie.
