After more modification, added a custom pin wheel to the MJ1200 + a ghetto volute the skimmer is now performing flawlessly. 99.9% of the bubbles stay within the CPR bakpack now and its actually skimmer fairly well. A DIY prefilter box was made to hide the pump as well a provide surface skimming to the system.

CPR skimmer mod includes:
raised first baffle + tappering of the first baffle
pin wheel
proper volute

i suspect that its pulling around 150lph of air at this moment, but will have to check it with an air flow meter tomorrow to know for sure. I'll also get a picture of the skimmate after a few days to show what this guy is pulling out. We've had this thing modded for about a week now and we've had to empty the cup i believe 3x with a dark tea colored skimmate...hard to believe its from a CPR bakpak. Meanwhile heres some photos enjoy guys
