excuse my silliness I am not able to look it up at this moment so just wondering what is this stuff every talks of and can I put it directly in my tank and what does it do?? thanks sorry I just don't have time to look it up at work and I am curious as to what it is and does

It is a macro algae that helps reduce nitrates. Generally you have it in your sump or fuge, but some people also let it grow in their display tank(I wouldn't).
