Default PC lighting to fit 23" area

Ok,

I have an Eclipse 2 hood for my 20g reef setup.. recently the dumb stock light blew on me but they are shipping a replacement . Unfortantly I am out of a light right now. I want to build something to fit into this Eclipse hood, the width is maybe 4" max with a length of 23" or so. Does anyone have a recommendation on what I can use? BTW, looking to max out the wattage if possible.. without going overboard

Thanks

Chad

I believe CSL has a retro fit kit which fits the eclipse 2 perfectly.

Ya, I may be getting that as well... but I am looking to add something that fits the small space behind the stock light.. trying to increase my lighting beyond what that offers.

thanks

I never liked the retro fit stuff. I always ended up building a top canopy out of wood. Doesn't take long if you have the tools and you keep it simple. Then you could even hide a MH in there with a pair of vent fan. ROAR.

Would a 55/65W PC lamp not fit in there? Otherwise, the 38/32W PC lamp should.

That looks OK, but a Workhorse 5 will run 2x55 PC (I have that running over a 20), and it must be at least a little cheaper.

Maybe.. but its all done now tho .. I am in the process of finishing a hood to hold these puppies in. I actualy took the reflecter.. attached some aluminium and a handle to it. Works great cuz I just grab a handle and move my lights around.. no burning touch Here is a pic

The metal feet will be gone once I complete my hood. Right now it is resting on a glass lid.
