Capping off bulkhead hole

Any suggestions for capping off the no longer needed hole? I'm looking for least protruding/lowest profile possible solution.

Cap it off from the inside? Easier if it's a slip fitting, but even it's threaded you could use some teflon tape or plumber's putty.

Actually, I don't want to cap off the bulkhead. I want to cap off/patch the hole itself. Yes, using capped off bulkhead is a possibility.

im with leduc on this one, i have seen tanks with the hole and a piece of glass over it if you wanted to be double secure you could put on on each side.

Bulkhead with a plug in it is the safest, easiest and quickest to do.

Place bulkhead with threads protruding into the tank, make sure you get a bulkhead with threads on the inside:

Place teflon tape around the threads on the plug and then screw the plug into the bulkhead:

I got a free scrap piece of 1/4" acrylic, cut it to size and siliconed it over a hole on the back of my tank. I went with acrylic instead of glass because it is simple to cut to size yourself. If the hole is at the bottom of an overflow I would go with Vancouver Reefer and use a bulkhead and plug because unless there is enough room to slip a blade in afterward it won't be coming off again easily.

I've done similar thing in the past - positioning the bulkhead with threads protruding outside of the tank and using slip on plug, not threaded one. If I just do what you suggest, what end I put the gasket on then? Per manufacturer instructions it should be be outside the tank, since it shouldn't be placed on the side where bulkhead nut is. Am I correct?
