Default Shrimp?

I've been reading about shrimp and I was wondering if they are all nocturnal or are there some species that may come out more during the daytime?

Shrimp are nocturnal, however they may come out during daylight. I have cleaner, peppermint and coral banded shrimp... All hide, but on occasion you can see them in the light, but they are always scavaging during night.

Is there some kind of lighting we can rig up that will not bother the shrimp, but allow us to see into the tank at night?

My trio of sexy shrimp are out all day, everyday. However, they are the only shrimp I keep. I'm not sure how they would mix with other shrimp, as they could get eaten by larger shrimp.
