Kipper plays 76 games to your "Elite" goalie that plays 42. Kipper has 45 wins and yours 25.
Of course his numbers will go down,he plays twice as many minutes as your guy. You play Kipper the same amount of games as Khabibulin and I bet his numbers are better. To say Kipper's not an elite gaolie is typical of someone that doesn't like him. That would be like me saying Luongo is crap cause he play for the Canucks.
Kipper WAS an elite goaltender, but certainly hasn't looked like it lately. Have you seen what his stats looked like compared to other elite goalies in the league? He was average, at best, the last 2 years. He was overplayed, but still, I don't remember Brodeur or Luongo falling apart because they played so much.

flames fans are hilarious too, they figure they're gonna win the cup every year and then they choke cuz they aren't that good!! So you got bowmeester, how does that improve your dfence? He's not known as a very good defensive dman. Oh and the oilers making the playoffs a lofty goal? We missed by what three points last year and we are going to be much better this year. I'm not gonna be stupid and say we're contenders but look out I think!!

We had better make the playoffs this year! I miss watching playoff games with the oilers in them.

I know we were on such a roll, and so close to a perfect ending *sigh*

If only Rollie hadn't been run over, maybe they could have pulled it off.

If Rollie didn't get hurt we would have won the cup and it would have been arguably the best playoff goaltending performance of all time. I blame it on Jason Smith coughing up that puck behind the net, wtf was he doing?

Its not just JBO,Sutter is always defensive minded and that style will come out in the Flames. The Oilers will have to work hard to make the Playoffs once again.....3 points is still 3 points you didn't get to make the playoffs. I think they may make it in but it will be by the skin of their nose.

How do you figure Brodeur and Luongo were played so much???? Didn't Luongo blow the last game the Canucks played in last years playoffs? Weren't they both hurt?????
Hmmm lets see
Kipper 76 GP TOI 4,417:59

Luongo 54 GP TOI 3,181:05
Brodeur 31 GP TOI 1,813:35

I wasn't refering to last season specifically. I was making a point that Brodeur and Luongo's games don't deteriorate because they played a lot. "Of course his numbers will go down,he plays twice as many minutes as your guy." They were able to be just as dominate as ever.

Brodeur: 2007-08 New Jersey NHL 77 44 27 6 4 .920 2.17 4635
2006-07 New Jersey NHL 78 48 23 7 12 .922 2.18 4697

Luongo: 2007-08 Vancouver NHL 73 35 29 9 6 .917 2.38 4233
2006-07 Vancouver NHL 76 47 22 6 5 .921 2.29 4490

Kipper:2008-09 Calgary NHL 76 45 24 5 4 .903 2.84 4418
2007-08 Calgary NHL 76 39 26 10 2 .906 2.69 4398
2006-07 Calgary NHL 74 40 24 9 7 .917 2.46 4419

Brodeau played even more hockey than Kipper did in back to back years, and still looked better.
