![]() So, I just recently started up my 72gal bow... and currently I have a few fish and a few LPS... but have not really been adding any additives at the time... when I had a nano, I used to add Kent Reef Plus and Kent Calcium twice a week... and wonder if I need to add any of this stuff to this new tank... after reading so many posts on the web it seems most people don't do the additive thing aside from dripping Kalk +/- B-ionic.
I guess in a nutshell I want to know if Kalk/Bionic is only necessary if one's keeping SPS... and if not necessary for my currently few LPS.. are there any additives necessary? Are there any suggested calcium levels for non-SPS coral and such? JT |

![]() JT, LPS and soft corals still use calcium. In fact, some LPS would rival SPS in calcium consumption. Levels slightly above seawater are still the minimum.

![]() Many people use only limewater for Ca replenishment. In the future if you can't keep up with the Ca demand with kalk alone you can look at other options (like Ca reactor).
