Blue ribbon eel

I was at Marine Aquaria the other day and they had a blue ribbon eel in their space tank. I thought he was cool so I thought I'd share some pic.'s

Not me I think he's so cool, I'd probably hand feed him.

If I had a closed escape proof big enough tank to put him in (or the extra money to set one up) I would've bought him in a heart beat. Too bad he'd escape from my open top side overflow 230g tank. Most likely he'd go for many rides into the overflow and into the sump, and eventually leave the refugium area he'd fist get dumped into and have a bad run in with a pump

Not worth the risk since I know eels love to escape down overflows and jump out of tanks *sigh* it's too bad they don't stay put.

it's a lot more likely that it will die before this happens. these eels suck in captivity.

Thankfully our LFS will no longer order these in because they've never had any success with them. I'm not sure how many they killed until they realized that they were losing money every time. Its too bad as those are really amazing looking eels.

I'm not sure they meant to, might of been a surprise switch of orders. I've never seen one before in person, and I have to agree with whatcaneyedo as they really are amazing looking eels.
