Sorry to hear about your losses.

Some thoughts that come to mind that might be worth consideration.

Stray Voltage?
Recent MH bulb change and bad bulb (rad++)
Painted or lead objects in tank
R/O problem ( bad filters)
Change in air quality ( something in air) air conditioning etc.
