Blue Legged hermits are tanks, except when it comes to each other. I was cleaning out old shells at the LFS and I think I placed around 600 shells in a bucket of steaming hot water to clean them. After sitting there for 3 days I kept finding live blue legged hermits that survived the cleaning and that crawled to the top of the bucket. That being said, hermits will kill each other (and snails, and fish and anything they can really catch) and it happens fairly often. If you provide enough food and some free upgrade shells this should stop them from cannibalizing each other.
