Cowrie snail not moving

I have ring cowries that will just sit on their eggs in the same spot for days.

check up on it at night/twilight. I thought my abalone was doing the same thing (as in nothing), but turns out it actually motors around the tank at twilight/night and returns to the exact same spot every night (been doing this for the 2 weeks or so that Ive had it)

So, now the shell is flipped over (I didn't do it) and it appears to be empty. Is this another alien abduction?? Where could she have gone?
